Roisin White is one of the foremost Ulster song carriers and sings all over Ireland, singing a eclectic mix of songs which have been passed onto her by the likes of Joe Holmes, Eddie Butcher, Paddy Tunney, Bridget Tunney and Robert Cinnamond. Today, she enjoys invitations to sing at international festivals in England and America. Born near Kilkeel, Co. Down, White recalls her mother’s love of singing around the house, which gave her a life-long interest in song. Learning Irish at school, she later went to Inisheer, the smallest of the Aran islands to improve her Irish, and was introduced to their traditional singing.
